Car Rentals: Planning a Weekend Getaway

When I moved to the big city, buying a car seemed like a waste of money. The subway takes me anywhere I want to go, and there are always cabs as a backup. When I do want to get out of the city for a weekend, I arrange for a car rental. Rentals are great for me. I get to choose the type of vehicle that I want, buy insurance to cover the trip, and concentrate on enjoying myself. If the car develops engine trouble, I call the agency and they pick me up in a replacement. Thanks to my club discounts, I even get price breaks on some of my rentals. If you are new to the idea of renting a car, let me help. I'll show you how to get the best terms, including the lowest price. That'll make for a more pleasant trip.

Ten Things To Bring When Traveling By Limo

Blog

If you plan on renting from a limousine service anytime soon, pack yourself a few things that will make the trip even better. These are items that your driver may not have on-hand, and that could present some great photo moments during your outing, party, or get-together.

Ten things to bring for your limo ride are:

  1. Your favorite beverages. Make sure to request or bring along your drink of choice. Most limos are stocked with a variety of supplies, such as glassware and mixer, but ask to be sure.
  2. A corkscrew or bottle-opener. It doesn't hurt to come prepared with your own corkscrew or bottle opener. Some drivers will have these but, depending on what you drink, bringing your own could make the trip easier.
  3. A lighter. It is good to also have matches or a lighter available, too. While many limos are non-smoking, you may want to light candles, sparklers, or have a smoke outside the car at some point.
  4. Some props. If you are celebrating a special event, bring some props along to create memorable photo moments. For instance, funny hats, boas, or fake mustaches are a few fun and festive props that don't take up a lot of space.
  5. Your charger. Make sure to bring your charger for phones or laptops. Most limos have a charging station available, but they may not have the exact cord that you use for your device.
  6. Bubbles. What could be better than balloons? Bubbles! Bubbles are a great party favor to bring along, without posing the risks that balloons do in a vehicle. Blow some bubbles out the windows and celebrate!
  7. A blanket. If you are worried about getting chilly, bring a blanket. Give your guests each a personalized fleece blanket to mark the occasion. These are excellent gift ideas for a shower or wedding bash, too.
  8. Great tunes. Don't forget to bring your mp3 and cord for piping in music during your ride. If you have music apps on your cell-phone, this may be sufficient.
  9. Your identification. When packing for your trip, make sure to bring your ID. This could be required in the event your limo is stopped or in an accident. Play it safe and bring your identification.
  10. Glow sticks. Other inexpensive and festive items to bring are glow sticks. Bring a few along to light things up after dark and to bring a celebratory atmosphere to the limo.

Treat yourself and pack a few goodies for your limo ride that will make it even more comfortable and memorable. Whether you are with a gaggle of girls for a bachelorette party or riding in style to a corporate function, consider bringing along some of these items.
